By Air

Florence's Amerigo Vespucci airport lies only 4 km from the city center, and is just a short taxi ride from Hotel Villani. The local ATAF and SITA bus lines also run shuttles between the airport and Florence's Santa Maria Novella train station. Regular trains and buses link Pisa's Galileo Galilei international airport to Florence's Santa Maria Novella station.

By Train

Florence can be reached easily by rail from most major Italian cities, including Rome (1.5 hours), Milan (3 hours), Bologna (1 hour), and Venice (3 hours). Most trains arrive at Florence's Santa Maria Novella station, a few minutes walk or taxi ride from Hotel Villani and the city center. Walking from Santa Maria Novella station:
From the train platform, turn left to exit the station (near the exit you will see a McDonald's and a farmacia, or pharmacy). Turn right and follow the stairs down to the station underpass/underground mall. Continue straight through the underpass; you will return to street level across the piazza, just to the left of the church of Santa Maria Novella, on Via de Panzani. Continue straight down this road (you will see pedestrian rails along the sidewalk to your left). Follow Via de Panzani for several blocks, where it will bear left and turn into Via de Cerretani (you will be following the flow of both car and pedestrian traffic).

After a few blocks, you will find yourself in Piazza del Duomo, facing the Baptistry and Duomo. Walk past the Baptistry to the steps of the Duomo, then turn right and walk a few steps to Via dei Calzaiuoli. Follow Via dei Calzaiuoli for one block and turn left on Via delle Oche (at the Bata shoe store). Hotel Villani is one half block down Via delle Oche on your right.
